Pittsburgh emo band I Swallow Ghosts have been on a roll in 2025, dropping new music, hitting the road across the region, and on April 25th, releasing what Iād call their strongest track yet: āI Suffer From Anxiety and Dread.ā Itās a notably darker song than their previous single, āPenjamin Frankhit,ā diving into themes of mental health and not fitting in. The repeated outro drives the emotional weight home. Fans of Midwest emo will find a lot to love here. Active since 2019, the band has consistently evolved and sharpened their distinctive sound.
We sat down with I Swallow Ghosts a few months back for their previous release.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never listened to your music? What bands/artists inspire you the most?
It's sort of like Math Rock, but we can only count to 4.Ā
I think for ISG we are all over the place regarding inspiration. For me personally, bands like Oliver Houston, Cloud District, Modern Baseball and Swordfish have all heavily influenced this project.Ā
Where can our viewers find you and stay up to date with future releases?Ā
Instagram is where we're most active. https://www.instagram.com/iswallowghosts/
