Hello everybody, welcome back to No Skip News! Today we have an exciting new announcement from Aussie metalcore legends, The Amity Affliction! Many of you may know about the recent controversy surrounding the band due to parting with founding member Ahren StringerĀ early last year. This came as a huge shock to fans as it was sudden and Ahren being a founding member, and seemingly soul, of the band. However, we already released a short video on our YouTube channel discussing that situation if youāre curious about it. In this post we are here to discuss AA themselves and the most recent announcement they released as of a day ago on the 6th.
Since releasing their last album, Not Without My Ghosts, in 2023 the band has been relatively quiet, not including the redux version of Let The Ocean Take Me in 2024, marking almost 3 years since new music. But donāt you worry, just this Thursday the band released their first single, House of Cards, the title track from their recently announced album of the same name. Following this release the band would go on to post to their Instagram account just a day after confirming the upcoming album, set for release on April 24th of this year! Of course preorders are also now available as well. The post also contains a teaser of the title song and music video, along with album specific merch and different vinyl prints.
But thatās not all! Courtesy of the band only 20 hours ago as of this writing, via their Instagram once more, the band also announced they will be going on a tour in Europe starting in mid September. The bill includes Silent Planet, Varials, and Orthodox, with tickets available now. Too bad Iām not European, or have a valid passport/Real ID and loads of cash, or else I would be hopping right on that tour!
Are any of you lucky enough to make this tour, would you even if it came to America? Do you have high hopes for the bands newest releases since parting with Ahren? As always, thanks for reading and happy listening!
