Hello everybody, welcome back to the No Skip Show! Today, we bring you sad news regarding the future of local St. Louis emo band Foxing. Announced via their Facebook page on the 23rd of September, the band laid out the bad news that they will be going on an indefinite hiatus. Theyāve been an established band for fourteen years while actively touring for twelve, making the news even more shocking and sudden. However, as sad as it may be, the band has expressed genuine concerns in the post to explain the decision, stating that they will be taking the time to prioritize reestablishing a more balanced relationship with music, themselves, and their identities outside of the band. It's a bittersweet situation as we will be losing such a beloved band for the foreseeable future, but the hope is they will be able to come back stronger if/when they decide to and find the balance they need. The post laments this by stating in the closing lines,Ā
āKnow that if you ever saw us at a show or listened to our records, you were getting the most from us that we could possibly give in that moment. We will come back if/when we feel that we have more to give.
Thank you for everything over the years.ā
The band will be playing their last two shows for the foreseeable future at the end of this year in December. These shows will be December 4th at Thalia Hall in Chicago Illinois, then December 6th at Delmer Hall in St Louis Missouri, marking a perfect bookend to the band for now with a hometown show. As the future for the band is uncertain and has left many fans wondering, we can only hope the members can work on themselves and reignite the fire that let them go on for so long. We wish them the best of luck and hope they will return sooner rather than later when they are ready. Do you think this marks a definite end for the band or they will come back stronger than ever whenever that may be? As always, thanks for reading and happy listening!
