Hello friends, family, fellow worshippers. Today I would like to speak on a subject that resonates with this writer very deeply. As some of you who know me, Justin Albacker, the guy who posts covers every week, you will see what I’m talking about.

RCA has decided to make it their goal and intent of taking down any and all Sleep Token fandom created videos, reactions, and even covers. (Specifically the Even in Arcadia instrumental album) With this said, as someone who did 35 of their songs, to have 8 of them taken down and without a forewarning or even an email, it’s absolutely and utterly appalling. To say that it’s kinda a slap in the face that they decided, “hey we are gonna put out an instrumental version of this album, instead of fixing this”, would be the understatement of the year. Artists' whole instagrams are being taken down! Personally I know of two different ones, one of whom actually made a giant book that had many artists all over the world contributing to it, that had their Instagram shut down. 

What does it take for a band of this popularity to just say, “ya know what, we don’t need them?” We are faced with a question as Sleep Token fans, as worshippers, do we honestly care about it this much? The answer is simple. Yes, we do. At least we should. People are working hard on artwork, covers, reactions, and making communities for this band, and for an AI/bigger record company to rip apart the very thing that made Sleep Token fans different, it's an absolute travesty! As stated by many different bigger people on the YouTube scene as well, why would you take away the free promotion and ad revenue from yourselves? The thing that’s the most disheartening, however, is that every month or two we get an OBTAIN email. I’m tired of obtaining and I’m tired of the things I and many others have worked on for hours and hours to be taken away with no answer or warning whatsoever.

Not one of us is making money off it, because it specifically says you can’t monetize on anything that is Sleep Token related. A lot of the time people find bands through these gateways, be it through YouTube, artists, or even covers by yours truly! I find the whole thing to be disgusting and I honestly hope that Sleep Token gets out of this deal with RCA and goes independent or even gets a better deal overall.
