Hello everybody, welcome back to the No Skip Show! Today we have an absolutely bitching announcement to share with everyone! This news is coming right out of the UK from genre-blending giants, Loathe! For those of you who know, Loathe is an absolute powerhouse in the scene but with a very low amount of albums, only four as of now. But, the band did start in 2016 so they’re still relatively new which means there is plenty more to come. That brings us to today's announcement, they are finally releasing their fifth album!
This crazy announcement would be given to fans via the band's Instagram on April 27th, just four days ago as of this writing. This teaser and subsequent album news will mark the end of a five year drought since the band's last album, the longest they’ve taken between releases. But, that's not the only gift the band decided to give us. Leading off the reveals would be a short trailer for what we can assume is the first single off the new album, Revenant, which features the amazing nowhere2run also on the track, the single is out as of their post so listen immediately. I can say for certain this song does not disappoint, bringing back that typical but awesome Loathe sound that they are very known for and perfect at. With just this small glimpse however I am super hyped for their new album. The post was short and sweet, only offering the name and date of release for the project, the name being A Stranger to You, and the date being July 17th. Sadly we have to wait three months but I guarantee it will be worth the wait!
But that's not all, the news just keeps getting better! To support this new release the band will be going on a North American headline tour starting in early September of this year. That news is almost as impactful as the album announcement itself because any chance, even a slime one, to see Loathe headlining is one worth taking. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Loathe live a few times and every time it was one of the best shows I've seen in the year. But to make this tour even better, special guests include Superheaven and Prostitute, two awesome choices to have support a Loathe headliner for a new album in my opinion. The tickets for the tour go on sale as soon as 10am on May 1st, today if you read this immediately, so snatch them asap as the tour is not even a full month, having only twenty dates.
Who here has heard of Loathe and are excited for these new releases? Who will be getting their tickets asap for any of the upcoming dates? I can bet a No Skip representative will definitely be at a date. As always, thanks for reading and happy listening!
