Hello everyone, welcome back to the No Skip Blog! Today we are discussing the current speculation that lead vocalist Connie Sgarbossa of SeeYouSpaceCowboy could potentially be leaving the band over the recent Dance Gavin Dance tour announcement. The band is included on the bill as support but due to fan backlash, and Connie's own disagreement over the bands involvement of said tour, stating on X almost as soon as the fan criticism started; “believe me, there is no part of me as an individual that backs this either,” that could very well change in the near future as well as Connie’s standing with the band. If you are unaware of this current news we are here to try and put the whole ordeal into perspective with all the information we currently have available. Like stated above, this is all speculation stemming from Connie’s own social media post and behavior, NOTHING HAS YET TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE BAND, THE LABEL, OR CONNIE HERSELF.

The DGD tour was announced on the 14th of January with support from The Home Team, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, and Dwellings. However, almost immediately after the announcement SYSC fans would take to the internet, mainly on X, to voice their concerns and disappointment on SYSC being on the bill. Fans even brought up the band's hypocrisy since they removed the band Roman Candle from their headline tour, Coup De Gras Live in 2024, due to the lead singer facing domestic violence allegations, while still seemingly supporting DGD on this tour. If you are unfamiliar on why this is such a deciding factor for this recent announcement, back in the summer of 2022 former DGD frontman Tilian Pearson was accused of sexual assault, leading him to step away from the band shortly thereafter. These events would directly lead to the band's An Evening With Friends tour in late summer 2022, with Eidola frontman Andrew Wells stepping in for Tilian as well as other former DGD frontman Kurt Travis accompanying him on a few songs throughout the tour. Soon after this tour ended the band would welcome Tilian back in 2023 for their upcoming Jackpot Juicer tour, celebrating the most recent album release.
All seemed well and back to normal in the DGD camp, until Spring of 2024 when the band announced Tilian would be leaving due to “creative differences,” leading to Andrew Wells permanently replacing the former frontman on clean vocals. DGD would go on to showcase this new lineup change in the fall of 2024 as support for Falling in Reverse's Popular MonsTOUR II: World Domination. This decision also left a bad taste in many SYSC fans' mouths when hearing of the tour package, as everyone by now knows what kind of person Ronnie Radke is. Many of you may also know that in the last few years Ronald of Falling in Reverse and Connie have had many public arguments and showdowns on various social media platforms. Ronnie even contributed to this recent controversy, with absolutely no ties to the tour, by directly mentioning the band on X, saying; “hey guys let me know if you want me to produce a new song and sing on the track in replace of your other singer that quit…. you know what. Stay on the dgd tour I’ll literally be your vocalist you can keep my share of the money too split it 4 ways.”
While it still hasn’t been confirmed at the time of this writing, everyone seems to believe Connie is now out of SeeYouSpaceCowboy regarding the multitude of cryptic post she has made on both X and Instagram, even going so far as to removing SYSC from the bios on her socials. Or at the very least speculation that the band is planning to drop from the tour has come to light as well, as they have removed the tour poster from all their socials, best case scenario instead of losing their iconic lead singer. However, so far it seems like Connie has made up her mind behind the scenes as a post to her Instagram story spoke of the band in the past tense, stating; “I appreciate everyone reaching out, SYSC meant the world to me too, I haven't fully processed whats going on but I am alive as of now.” But this wouldn’t be the initial post that sent fans into a tizzy. Shortly after the tour announcement and fan reaction Connie would post a follow up message to her first one on X that would be more blunt than the cryptic Instagram stories, “probably gonna be leaving SYSC due to a lack of urgency on issues I have been bringing up for a while now. It was fun while it lasted.” So, while all things may point to Connie's sudden departure being true, we still have no solid confirmation on whether or not it really is aside from Connie’s own post on her socials. Do you think the band will drop from the DGD tour, or risk losing the member that truly makes the band what they are?

As always, thanks for reading and happy listening!
