Hello everybody, welcome back to the No Skip Show! Today, we bring you unfortunate news regarding recently formed metalcore supergroup, Better Lovers. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Buffalo, New York group, they were formed in 2023 after the tragic dissolution of the band Every Time I Die. The supergroup would consist of Jordan Buckley, Steve Micciche, and Clayton Holyoak from Every Time I Die, added with Greg Puciato from The Dillinger Escape Plan on vocals and Will Putney from Fit For An Autopsy shredding guitar as he does.

With a group like that they would be destined for greatness, for a time. After the split of Every Time I Die, everyone should know the story by now, the new group would go on to release a debut EP in 2023, followed by their debut album in 2024. These releases, along with any other single or release, were mind-bogglingly great, each one banged harder than the last. This left those who followed any previous or current projects of the members astonished with what this group could achieve together, especially with having Greg on vocals, making the future of the band seem endless. However, the band would announce, as of this writing, eleven hours ago via their Instagram that they would unfortunately be parting ways with Greg. The post would go on to state: “Better Lovers is parting ways with Greg Puciato. We’re proud of the work we’ve done together but we are moving in another direction.”

The announcement would be even more shocking as they reveal after a paragraph of them showing gratitude to fans, that they are currently working on a second studio album. The post says towards the end that the band intends to finish the product and that they are very proud of it, but also will be actively looking for a new singer. The brief but straightforward message may answer the question on new music coming forward, as only a single and deluxe version of their album with said single and one other track being the only recent releases, but leaves the question of Greg's sudden exit from the supergroup. Perhaps he was too busy to split his time singing between two bands, or maybe there were some behind the scenes creative differences? We may never know the entire truth, but we do know that everyone involved will keep their passion going no matter what. It is sad to see Greg go as the band will potentially sound vastly different without his unique voice and uncleans, but that leaves something exciting for the fans to find out down the line.

Do you guys think the band will be the same without Greg? Do you like Better Lovers or prefer their other projects, or the other Buckley brothers project? Make sure to check the band's Instagram to see the full statement if you’re curious, and while you’re at it check out everyone's projects! As always, thanks for reading and happy listening!
