Hello everybody, welcome back to the No Skip Show! Today, we have a very exciting new announcement for everyone's favorite and most chill Swancore homies, Dance Gavin Dance! As many of you may know DGD and the Swancore genre, along with any adjacent bands or sounds, hold a special place in the channel's heart so when anything special happens you should be prepared to hear from us, and today is no different! As of last week on Friday the 17th the band would announce, via their Instagram, not only a new live rendition track, but another amazing live performance record on the way in the form of Tree City Sessions 3!

For the uninitiated, in the band's past they have done two separate Tree City Sessions, the first being in 2016 and the second in 2020. Both of these live performances were with their previous clean vocalist and frontman Tilian Pearson. That being said, this makes the first Tree City Sessions with new frontman and clean vocalist Andrew Wells at the helm of the supergroup. If you aren’t completely stoked about this then you’re dead inside because it's going to be awesome! I haven’t listened to the first Tree City unfortunately, but I had the absolute pleasure to witness the live performance of the second one when Travis showed it to me on YouTube as I was just getting into the band. Both were recorded in Sacramento, California at the Pus Cavern Recording Studios.

As mentioned, while both are live recorded performances, the second one would famously be held as a virtual concert on Sacramento’s Tower Bridge due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each Tree City received high praise from fans, for good reason, so it's exciting to see what Andrew will do with this one and how he will make it different compared to Tilians before him. Thankfully we won't have to wait too long to figure that out, on the post announcing this release they revealed that Tree City 3 will be out exactly a month from this writing on May 22nd!

And speaking of releases, leading off the post would be the announcement of a very awesome live rendition of Need Money. I have to say from the 10 second teaser clip it sounds pretty damn cool, especially with Andrews vocals in place of Tilians, it's interesting and definitely a fresh look on the track from the small snippet we get. However, it was the little part that included live brass players to cover those parts that was amazing to see. This is the perfect song to turn into a live rendition just because of those parts, it makes it sound so much more punchy and groovy. This live rendition, and small taste to the whole pie, is out now and available everywhere so make sure to give that a listen to hype yourself up for the rest of the album! It definitely makes me a hell of a lot more excited for the whole release, as much as I love Tilian it is crazy and very neat to see Andrews take on his songs and his voice singing older DGD tracks. The great thing about these sessions is they are complete fan service done in a masterful way for pretty much no reason aside from the band having a blast and giving back to their fanbase. I guarantee it'll live up to the last two!
