Hello everybody, welcome back to the No Skip Show! Today we bring you even more exciting news on recent band announcements regarding new music! For this release we’re focusing on emo/alt-rock legends Citizen. For those who aren't familiar, Citizen is a cult classic in the emo landscape and legends for the albums they’ve put out over the span of fifteen years. Each album is a masterpiece in itself, so imagine how we reacted as soon as we heard they’re putting out a new one this year!

The news would technically start off a week ago with a small teaser trailer of the band in what looks like a music video, the caption simply stating “music and tour next week”. Fast forward almost a week later to the 27th of April with another short teaser of the band seemingly in a music video for their newest single, Highs and Lows! Very exciting as the song sounds awesome with the standard Citizen vibe but with a slight change in sound it seems like, which this band is amazing at leaning more into certain genres outside of emo or alt-rock while still sounding like themselves. But, the sentence after the song title would be even more exciting, revealing a new album on the way on August 7th named Halcyon Blues through Run For Cover Records. The preorders are out now as well!

This is not the only kickass news however, as the first teaser post mentioned there is also a tour on the way in support of the new album! A world tour at that, beginning this August in North America and ending in early March of next year in Australia, tickets on presale now as of April 30th so get them quick! You’ll have to look at the bands post itself for what support is playing where as they’re literally going across three separate continents so it's a little confusing, but all support includes; Anxious, Hotline TNT, Modern Color, Rocket, Cryogeyser, and Drug Church! An absolutely stellar lineup no matter which leg you're going to, the tour is stacked overall.

This is a monumental occasion as it's been about three years since the band's last release, which had a lot of praise around it, and it's one of their bigger tours they’ve had in awhile. The band are masters of putting out constant and consistent albums through their long tenure. Are you all ready for this new release? Which album is your favorite from the band's discography? As always, thanks for reading and happy listening!
